“The Blue Sky Cathedral”
Today, Sunday, May 24th, 2009; was the first of our Fellowship and Outreach services, held on the street with the poor and homeless. Every Sunday during the summer our team will hold service in the park on the lake front. We fellowship and share God’s Word with whoever wishes to join in. There were some returning faces from last year as well as a few new ones. The group opened up and voiced those things that brought them out, as well as issues which in their mind, has taken them away from regular Church attendance. There were jokes, laughs, tears, as well as some outright crying. After the open air sermon we provided a meal fresh off the grill… food for the belly as well as for the soul. If the coming weeks are anything like this kickoff session it should make for an interesting summer. It is my hope that we can bring some hope to those whose hope is fading. I look forward to seeing the power of our Lord, in a time such as this.
Deuteronomy 15:7 (NIV) If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.
